Chris Hawn joined the Machinex team as North American Sales Manager and currently resides as the Chief Executive Officer of Machinex Technologies Inc. From the processing, and end product development, of recyclable commodities to the separation of curbside collected materials, Chris has worked in the waste and recycling industry for more than 23 years.
Chris began his career in the recycling market representing international manufacturers of equipment and selling to domestic customers in the synthetic textile industry. The position entailed providing solutions for washing or preparation of both post consumer and post industrial resins through various technologies to manufacture new products. With interest in working directly for a manufacturer, Chris joined ReTech Industries, which later merged with Vecoplan, to sell shredding equipment to the plastics industry. For a period of 10 years with Vecoplan, he assumed new sales roles and business development which ultimately resulted in bringing the experience of many of the European applications to North America.During the final two years with Vecoplan, Chris became intimately engaged in mixed waste processing projects.
In 2010, Chris accepted a position with Machinex to help develop and qualify projects in the various waste sorting markets. Positions held at Machinex have included US Sales Manager, North American Sales Manager, Executive VP Sales & Business Development, and his current role as CEO of Machinex Technologies. With the knowledge of the full value chain of commodities, recycling technologies, and international sales experience Chris helped broaden sales and business development in the North American market while also being in charge of all business growth plans.
Chris earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Appalachian State University in 1992.
