Profile
Dr. Arie Kremen is a solid waste professional with more than 25 years of experience in landfill engineering, leachate management, and computational geohydrology. He was awarded a doctorate from the Israel Institute of Technology for research into nitrogen dynamics in beneficial reuse applications in soils.
Arie leads Tetra Tech’s solid waste practice in New Jersey and is the national subject matter expert for leachate management and treatment. His current research interests focus on emerging contaminants: specifically establishing the role landfills occupy in the PFAS cycle by quantifying inputs, outputs, and accumulation towards estimating national, regional, and site-specific PFAS mass balances.
Arie frequently gives presentations at regional, national, and international conferences. His research is published in peer-reviewed journals and trade magazines.
Dr. Kremen is the Safety Ambassador for the New Jersey SWANA Chapter and the Vice-chair of the SWANA technical committee on landfill liquids.
