Gene Ginn has been in the Solid Waste Industry for the past 25 years beginning his career as a heavy equipment mechanic, when automated garbage collection started arriving in Florida. He is currently the Solid Waste Manager for the City of Lakeland, accepting this position in 2015. The City of Lakeland serves 48,000+ residential and 4900+ commercial customers. He has been the Chairman for the SWANA Florida Chapter Road-e-o Committee since 2011 and is a current Board of Directors member for the SWANA Florida Chapter. Ginn holds a Bachelor’s degree from Eckerd College in Corporate Finance and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Barry University.
