Abby Blocker is the Vice President of State Affairs with the National Waste & Recycling Association. As a part of NWRA’s state government affairs team, she works to identify trends impacting the waste and recycling industry across various states and to steer policy in a favorable direction.
Abby is an experienced lobbyist with a demonstrated history of working in state politics, grassroots lobbying and environmental compliance. She comes to NWRA from the Madison Coalition where she was the director of political relations. In that capacity, she led state and federal lobbying and advocacy efforts as well as conducted fundraising campaigns. Prior to the Madison Coalition, Abby worked at Enercon Services supporting state compliance having previously been a consultant for the Environmental Project Agency. Her career began in 2006 as a lobbyist at Arch Coal.
Abby Holds a Master of Science in Environmental Science and Policy from The Johns Hopkins University. She is a graduate of Randolph-Macon College with a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Science and Political Science.
