Many people don’t think about what happens to their waste and recyclables when the items leave the curb. This mindset has led some municipalities to implement underground collection systems, which aim to increase collection efficiency; maintain beautification efforts; combat potential overflowing bins, fires, odors and pest problems; save on space; and prevent issues that may arise during weather events like hurricanes and snowstorms.
