Profile
Willie K. Goode is the President and CEO of the Goode Companies, Inc., one of the largest privately held waste management and transportation companies in the Mid-Atlantic region. Goode Companies is celebrating its 30th year in business this year. A native Washingtonian; Willie’s strong work ethic was shaped as a teen working with his father and uncles in their small trash business.
In 1991, rather than be absorbed in an acquisition, Willie decided to lease a truck and start his own business; with this one truck, a belief in self, a spirit of entrepreneurship, and a strong vision, Goode Companies, Inc. was established. Goode Companies now boasts five locations across Maryland and a new location in West Palm Beach, Florida. The company has over 170 trucks serving 125,000 residents and 11,000 commercial customer stops supported by 350 employees.
Goode Companies is a certified minority business in the City of Baltimore, Prince George’s County and other jurisdictions through the CRMSDC. The Goode Companies serves as mentor in the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 8a Mentor Protégé Program.
A recognized leader in the waste industry, Willie is an avid reader, father to five children and holds memberships in SWANA, MDSWA and DCA. Recently he became a Board Member of Baltimore County Solid Waste Work Group and was featured in a Waste360 Podcast.
