Bryant O. Johnson, MBA has served as Assistant Director of Solid Waste/General Services for the City of Clearwater, Florida since 2018. In this role, Johnson oversees the administration of a comprehensive integrated municipal solid waste program comprised of over 130 employees with an annual budget of over $20 million. His responsibilities include: management of Container Maintenance, Dispatch and Transfer Station operations as well as solid waste collection responsibility for: commercial (front load & roll off), residential (automated & manual), yard waste and bulk item. During Johnson’s 16 years in the solid waste industry his prior positions include: Executive Manager, Contracts and Customer Service, for Hillsborough County, Florida’s Solid Waste Management Department; Deputy Director, Public Works, Temple Terrace, Florida and Municipal Marketing Manager, Waste Management of Florida. He has a Bachelors Degree in Communications from THE Ohio State University and an M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix. Johnson also holds the distinction of being a United States Olympian having competed on the 1988 U.S. Olympic Team in Seoul, South Korea in the sport of Team Handball. Sessions
