Kerri is the President of Anchor Disposal LLC in Clayton, NC. She is proud to say that she is a second-generation trashaholic.
The yard is where she spent her childhood growing up, knowing that trash was the smell of money, and if you didn’t believe this to be true, then you are definitely in the wrong place. This is the place where she learned to maneuver trucks around the transfer station before her feet could reach the petals. The place where she spent her summers scraping, sanding, and painting old contains by hand with her cousin.
In her 20s, she committed wholeheartedly to working full-time in the family waste business after her Father convinced her she couldn’t run from it. Of course, you have to start from the bottom when your Dad is in charge. Besides all the jobs she did as a young girl, she had the joy of running the day-to-day office, collections, sales, and more. Kerri ran routes as both a loader and a driver. Yes, she still has her CDL. She worked in all facets of the family business because, as we all know, you “EARN” your respect in this industry. Getting respect from an old-school trash man like her dad was far from easy.
Kerri is here to say not only did she survive, but she realized that she, too, had trash in her blood and was compelled to start up her own company in 2015 in Clayton, North Carolina. She is proud to be the president of Anchor Disposal, a women-owned company. Kerri’s passion is to advocate for both small haulers and women in the waste industry. She currently serves as the NWRA Women's Council President as well as the Vice President of the North Carolina Independent Waste Haulers Association.
Kerri is blessed that her children are growing up in the same communities that Anchor services daily. She is hoping to pass the love of trash to the next generation in hopes of carrying on the family legacy.
