Amy is the Deputy General Manager of Sims Municipal Recycling (SMR) and has been a sustainability and project manager for over 15 years working on various construction & sustainability efforts in NY, NJ, DC, and FL.
Amy’s role at SMR ranges from managing a variety of capital budgets and collaborating with operations to report and find ways to exceed operational performance objectives, developing new business opportunities, as well as partnering with industry and non-industry organizations to pave paths toward circular waste solutions. In her tenure at SMR, she completed the opening of SMR’s $110M MRF in Sunset Park, Brooklyn and since managed over $45M in other capital projects.
Amy takes a lead role in special projects, such as transitioning into the Operations Agreements for Florida’s Palm Beach and Lee County’s Material Recovery Facilities, acts as a liaison between SMR and various trade associations, and helps guide SMR’s Recycling Education Center.
