Norma joined Waste Industries (now GFL Environmental) in 1989 as a Commercial Salesperson. She won numerous sales awards including Salesperson of the Year. During that time, she was involved as Chairperson of many local organizations. In 1999, she was nominated to serve on the Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Service by the Acting General of MCAS Cherry Point. Norma became a Government Contracts Manager in 2008 working many areas across the South. She is a member of the Carolina Recycling Association, Carolinas Chapter of the NWRA (Fundraising Chair), NWRA Women’s Council, NCSWANA and an Associate Member of many state and local organizations. Norma grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina and attended North Carolina State University. She played on the first women’s basketball team at NC State as well as the Varsity Softball and Volleyball teams. She has two sons and is married to MSGT (Ret) Ricardo Yanez.Sessions
