Willie D. Goode

Chief Operating Officer
Goode Companies of Florida

Profile

Willie D. Goode began working in the waste management industry at the age of 5 by starting his own company with his own toy trucks, picking up little pieces of trash, lint and anything else he could find or make into trash around the house. He had a three truck operation with a transfer station in the bathroom and landfill in his room. By the age of 14 he was able to really get into the industry and worked summers all the way through high school on the Rear-End truck as a labor tech. He eventually worked his way up onto a management position his sophomore year in college helping to manage a operation at Aberdeen Proving Grounds In Aberdeen Maryland for a contract, at the time, held by Jenn-Kans Disposal. Mr. Goode would work early mornings until mid afternoon and attended college classes the remainder of the day for two years. Soon after receiving his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Morgan State University in Baltimore Maryland, Willie D. started his professional career with the family owned and operated Goode Companies in 2012. While do so, Willie D was able to contribute his business acumen and institutional knowledge as a project/manager consultant focusing on process improvement and economic efficiencies. His two notable projects on fuel efficiency and intracompany purchases saved the company tens of thousands of dollars. He changed the fuel purchasing approach, opened up competition between suppliers, and negotiated more favorable supply agreements. When he was 27, he successfully led GCI's expansion into Baltimore as VP of Roll-off/Commercial Operations, increasing revenues year over year, expanding the GCI footprint in a major new market. Two years ago when GCI expanded into Florida, Will D. spearheaded the start-up of the newest division, GCI-Florida, that entails a 20 truck operation located in West Palm Beach, Florida.
