RouteSmart to host 2022 user conference, INTERSECT, April 25-28 at Loews Sapphire Resort Orlando

(Columbia, Md.) – March 15, 2022 – RouteSmart Technologies will host its 2022 user conference, INTERSECT, at the Loews Sapphire Falls Resort near Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida from April 25-28.

The biennial event, postponed in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, brings together routing and technology professionals for four days of training, networking, workshopping, and camaraderie. Attendees include professionals in the public works, newspaper, parcel/local delivery, and utility industries, along with RouteSmart employees and partners.

“INTERSECT provides our community of clients the opportunity to take advantage of valuable workshop and training sessions as well as learn from other industry professionals,” RouteSmart Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Larry Levy said. “In doing so, clients can discover how other businesses are using our intelligent, advanced routing solutions to improve their business operations.”

Pre-conference training kicks off April 25-26. Workspace workshops are held April 26, while the main conference sessions take place April 27-28. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about new RouteSmart products and existing product developments, gain insights from our technology partners such as HERE and Esri, and hear client testimonials from Smith Brothers Farms and others.

“I made the decision to attend INTERSECT because I think it’s really important for me to see other companies and how they’re using the product,” Smith Brothers Farms’ Director of Logistics James Kostoroski said, referencing the 2019 conference. “Seeing how these other companies are using the product, I believe, is going to give me unique and novel approaches to (solving) problems I may not even know are there.”

New this year is a golf outing scheduled for 12:30 p.m. at the Arnold Palmer-inspired course Shingle Creek Golf Club. Rounds are free for conference attendees and can be booked when registering for INTERSECT.

Registration is free for RouteSmart clients. Visit www.routesmart.com/intersect-2022 or email help@intersect22.com to learn more.

FIND AN OPEN ARCHITECTURE SOLUTION; DON’T LET YOUR CUSTOMER DATA GET TRAPPED

OPEN LETTER TO ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES INDUSTRY SOFTWARE PROVIDERS & THEIR CUSTOMERS

(Columbia, Md.) – For both public and private organizations responsible for waste and recycling operations, your most-prized digital asset is your customer data. Without it, you can’t efficiently and effectively manage your collection operations and ensure vehicle assets are optimized.

As the world reopens from the COVID-19 pandemic, the last thing you need is your customer data to be locked down. But that’s exactly what’s happening to you by many waste industry business system solution providers. They’re holding you back by restricting the exchange of data to and from their platforms, limiting your options for technology solutions.

RouteSmart Technologies, on the other hand, embraces an accessible technology platform structure. Our vehicle route planning solutions have an open-architecture structure, which allows us to successfully integrate with numerous technology solution providers in the waste industry—and in other industries we serve. This flexibility allows our clients to have best-in-class route planning and optimization while leveraging other necessary business technology systems. We couldn’t imagine our clients expecting anything less than our technology cooperation to help them create the most robust solutions for their needs.

In our commitment to helping clients achieve peak vehicle route planning effectiveness, we will never charge our clients a penny to assist integrators or client-preferred business system providers with developing or maintaining integration with their products. Period.

We openly share our data model for vehicle route planning optimization. We’d be happy to discuss questions you or your solution providers may have regarding our data model and integrations with technology solutions.

We encourage other environmental industry software solution providers to work with us in support of you, our mutual clients.  Our goal is your success; we do not want our clients (or potential clients) to feel limited in their technology choices or isolated in options by the inability of their existing technology to restrict access to valuable client data. Cooperation and ease of integration with our powerful suite of vehicle routing solutions enables your organization to operate at peak collection operations effectiveness.  We are your partner in technology efficiency—will never be the roadblock to digital productivity.

RouteSmart Technologies to roll-out powerful RouteSmart Online solution for the Waste Industry

Aims to solve industry’s ‘Collection Chaos’ by providing logical route plans centered on efficiency and safety

(Columbia, MD) – RouteSmart Technologies, the premier worldwide provider of route planning and route optimization services, is excited to announce the forthcoming debut of its web-based solution RouteSmart Online supporting the waste and recycling industry.

The expected release of RouteSmart Online, which is currently only offered to our newspaper clients, will come in waves, with the first, RouteSmart Online Dispatcher, scheduled for June 2022. A full roll-out of all RouteSmart Online functionality is expected by January 2023.

“RouteSmart Online will help solve ‘Collections Chaos,’ the incredibly complex logistical activities associated with routing garbage trucks,” RouteSmart VP of Sales Chris Walz said. “By giving crews a logical route plan, RouteSmart Online will help organizations hire and retain drivers, ensure safety for refuse workers, help reduce the cost of waste collection through minimized time and distance on the routes, reduce environmental impact and fuel costs, and create less overtime and mileage.

The web-based solution provides all the tools required to maintain collection routes with up-to-date and accurate information for their fleets of residential and commercial service vehicles. It will empower route management staff and dispatchers with the ability to reduce the cost of collection through efficient routing and provide crews with operating plans that maximize safety in the collection order sequence.

Waste collection is the sixth most dangerous industry in North America, according to the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA). RouteSmart provides route plans accurate for drivers to execute, with new stops automatically inserted into an efficient collection order sequence, automatically generated driving directions for new drivers unfamiliar with the service area, respect for traffic considerations such as avoiding congestion and staying out of dangerous intersections, smart turn movements for waste vehicles , and factoring in right-side collection for automated side loaders or both side service for streets that can be safely navigated.

RouteSmart Online is powered by the RouteSmart “Routing as a Service” (RaaS) high-performance route optimization engine.

“RaaS is responsible for routing hundreds of thousands of drivers daily for some of the largest private and public fleets that are out there,” Walz said. “RaaS has been benchmarked against numerous other route optimization systems and, for the industries we serve, is unrivaled in terms of processing performance and precision of routing results.”
