From 2017-2019, I conducted masters thesis research in geography at Louisiana State University on the economics of food waste management NGO's in New Orleans. Following my thesis work, I became the co-chair of the Food Policy Advisory Council's food waste and recovery group, started a community food waste recycling garden in the 7th ward (called The Enchanted Yam Garden), and directed Food Rescue US (FRUS) in New Orleans. In the Fall of 2023, I will begin a PhD program to write my dissertation more generally about the politics of garbage in New Orleans.Sessions
