Steve Carl is the founder and president of Progressive Environmental Services (PES). Steve received his bachelor's degree in Entomology and Plant Pathology from the University of Arizona and managed a 21,000 acre farm for 5 years. In 1988 he co-founded a biotechnology marketing company that developed proprietary environmentally friendly, biological and organic products for the fruit and vegetable crops across the US. In July 2009, he founded PES with the primary purpose of providing the US Navy professional services related to the cleaning of the pipe systems in their naval fleet. Little did he know that shortly after founding PES, he would receive a call from an engineer is FL to perform a leachate collection system cleaning demonstration project using his proprietary chemical product. As with many of us here, he literally stumbled into the solid waste industry. As of 2019, PES sold the navy side of the business and is focused on the solid waste and water/wastewater industries.Sessions
