Mike Melby brings comprehensive industry expertise to his role as Vice President of Operations, with extensive experience in both MRF operations and processing system installation. Mr. Melby joined Balcones as the Maintenance Manager in 2012 and was promoted to Vice President of Maintenance in 2015. In this role, he directed and managed maintenance activities and personnel at all Balcones operations. He was responsible for prioritizing workflow and projects to achieve efficiency goals within designated timeframes and budgets.
Mr. Melby successfully performed the duties of Project Manager for Balcones Austin MRF retrofit. This project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget, while exceeding ROI benchmarks for labor reduction and increased revenue. Most recently, Mr. Melby worked as the Director of Asset Deployment at AMP Robotics, where he was responsible for robot installations and secondary recycling processing facilities. He also established standard operating procedures for use on international installations and led efficiency improvements that decreased installation time by 23%.
Mr. Melby completed U.S. Army specialized training including Leadership, Diversity, Mechanical, and Communication, and the OSHA 10-hour course for general industry.
