Pete Kistner is the Senior District Manager at WM’s King George Landfill in King George County, VA, with almost 20 years of landfill operating experience.
In his current role, Pete manages day-to-day landfill operations and oversees the site’s waste-by-rail operations from Maryland to Virginia. He has extensive experience in operations management, including safety and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Pete started his career in the waste industry as a laborer worked his way to heavy equipment operator and eventually landfill supervisor at a C&D landfill in Northern Virginia. Years later, Pete joined Republic Services as a landfill Operations Supervisor and was later promoted to Operations Manager. Prior to joining King George Landfill, Pete was the Operations Manager over two disposal sites for WM’s South Atlantic Area.
He served in the VA Army National Guard and received an Army Achievement Award.
