Profile

Carlos Silva Filho is the President of the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) and of the Brazilian Association of Special Waste and Public Cleaning Companies (ABRELPE). Carlos has been working with waste management since 1999 and has been with ABRELPE for the last 14 years. Additionally, Carlos acted as ISWA’s Latin America Regional Development Network Representative from 2011 to 2014, and as ISWA’s Vice-President from 2014 to 2020. On 2020, Carlos was elected as President of ISWA and is actively dedicated to several international projects to promote better waste management, dealing with closure of dumpsites, mitigation of GhG emissions, marine litter, planning and regulation, among other topics. Carlos is an attorney at law, holding a post graduate degree in administrative and economic regulatory law.
