Thwarted with current challenges for new landfill development—climate regulations, space restrictions and availability, environmental justice and not in my backyard movements—landfills are truly economic and community resources. Hear several strategies on how to increase stakeholder value specific to hard-to-recycle and construction and demolition materials. Walk through two case studies with industry experts showing how a rural county landfill is saving its taxpayers money while extending the life of its landfill and how a private landfill owner is extending the life of its resource while paving the path for a sustainable future. Data attributes, successes and failures to date will be shared.
