Erik Grabowsky has served as the Solid Waste Bureau Chief in Arlington for the last 20 years. During this time Arlington has successfully introduced a 4C's approach to service delivery for Arlington's residents (Convenient, Comprehensive, Cost Effective and Conservation Minded Services). This philosophy has allowed Arlington to build a citizen focused program that meets the needs of Arlington's residents. Arlington was the first County in the state of Virginia to adopt a Zero Waste Resolution and will soon adopt a zero waste plan with the goal of diverting 90% of generated waste from landfilling or incineration by 2038.
